SINUS AB – Swedish Institute for Children with Special Needs is a company with the mission to provide and disseminate research and evidence based knowledge and services for children and adolescents with ADHD and related developmental disorders.The company provides training and expertise in the field.
SINUS is founded and powered by Agneta Hellström. She is a well-known and experienced Swedish administrator and policy consultant, who has worked for many years with knowledge dissemination and service development concerning children, adolescents and young adults with special needs, especially ADHD and related neurodevelopmental disorders. She has also written books, book chapters, booklets and reports and is frequently requested for lecturing, supervising and consultation. She has a special interest in psycho-social intervention, especially parent education and teacher training. She is also concerned with parent training and advocacy and service coordination. She has developed the Swedish parent education program STRATEGI for parents of children and adolescents with ADHD, which is used within the mental health services for children and adolescents all over Sweden.
2007 she founded ADHD-center, a centre for Greater Stockholm with the mission to provide psycho-educational services to families of children and adoloescents with ADHD. She was the director of the centre until 2014.
Agneta Hellström has an educational background (BA) in behavioural sciences.
